It is learned from the Wenzhou Customs that Wenzhou has exported more than 13.5 billion yuan’s worth of shoes and boots in the first half of the year, an increase of more than 40 percent year-on-year. Most of them were exported to Europe and the United States, some others were exported to Japan, which were preliminarily calculated to more than 300 million yuan, with an increase of more than 20 percent  year-on-year through the Regional Comprehensive Economic Partnership (RCEP), enjoying Japanese tariff concessions of more than 3 million yuan.

The sales volume of Gold Emperor Group Co.,Ltd. in the first seven months of this year has increased by 4.5 million pairs compared with that of the same period in 2021, an increase of 47.02%, and the export value increased by USD 64.03 million, with an increase of 108.14% compared to the same period, which includes the addition of a large new order for sports shoes, for which, two new automated production lines are put into operation for more sports shoes.

The person in charge said that, in the past few years, Gold Emperor Group has strengthened the internal management of enterprises. Owing to continuous investment in automation and intelligent equipment, optimizing the upstream and downstream supply chain to reduce procurement costs, and expanding domestic and international markets, it has greatly enhanced its capacity. Its current orders have been scheduled to March and April of 2023.

Another leading enterprise of shoes and leather products - Kangnai Group’s foreign trade exports in the first half of the year reached more than 100 million, with an increase of 30% year-on-year. In the past few years, Kangnai Group has been upgrading from traditional manufacturing to intelligent factory by adding a new intelligent assembly line, which contributes to significantly improving product quality and further expanding domestic and overseas markets. At the same time, relying on big data to expand the "omni-channel" retail model, it has built a large database with more than 3-million-foot type data to comprehensively strengthen the supply-side reform by promoting a new kind of "business shoes that can run".

The great increase of export of footwear and leather products is due to favourable policy. In face of the impact of the epidemic and other unfavorable factors such as unstable prices of raw materials, exchange rate fluctuations, and rising labor costs, Wenzhou government undertook a series of initiatives, such as promoting new model foreign trade development, developing a diversified market, expanding the scale of import trade, etc., which helps many enterprises to overcome the difficulties.

In the next step, Wenzhou will rely on the national market procurement trade mode pilot to accelerate the construction of projects such as the TikTok shoes and boots industry live base, implement a number of digital trade, cross-border e-commerce and other new forms business enterprises, create live festivals for shoes and boots Internet celebrities, organize shoes and boots selecting fair, expand the new mode of direct sales of good goods from the manufactories, and accelerate the strategy of “selling well at home and abroad” by forming one-stop marketing integrated service hub.
