Wenzhou’s Another Overseas Economic & trade Cooperation Park Recognized

A few days ago, the Indonesian Weda Bay Industrial Park (WBIP) established by Wenzhouese, scoring highest in the comprehensive assessment hosted by the Zhejiang Provincial Commercial Department in 2019, was selected as one of Zhejiang Provincial overseas economic and trade cooperation zones. Currently, Wenzhou owns three national-level and three provincial-level overseas trade and economic cooperation parks, which made Wenzhou a prefecture-level city boasting the most foreign economic and trade cooperation parks in Zhejiang Province and the most national-level ones in this country.

It is learned that the WBIP is jointly invested by Wenzhou Yongqing Technology Co., Ltd (a subsidiary of Tsingshan Holding Group), Jiaxing Zhenshi Holding Group, and Huayou Holding Group, with Yongqing as the leader. The WBIP was legally established on Halmahera Island in Indonesia. It covers an industrial land of about 2000 hectares, and can accommodate 40,000 employees.

According to the Wenzhou Municipal Bureau of Commercial Affairs, next, Wenzhou authorizes will guide the overseas parks in risk early warning, COVID-19 infection avoidance upon their employees going abroad, application for emergency loans, and strengthening online investment promotion to help and support the parks to resume production in an efficient and orderly manner, with stress laid on overcoming their difficulties in insufficient staff, fund shortage and reduced orders during the outbreak.
