Wenzhou to Construct the Transportation Hub of China

Planning to construct the second runway, Terminal 3, being able to handle from 10 to 30million passengers per year, the third phase expansion project of Wenzhou Longwan International Airport was signed with RMB 20 billion yuan total investment on the afternoon of November 2nd, helping Wenzhou becoming regional aviation hub and making progress in becoming National Comprehensive transportation hub.

Taking 30 million passengers, 232 thousand aircraft movements and cargo handling capacity of 400,000 tons in 2030 as designing object, the third phase airport expansion project consists of fight-run, logistics freight area and terminal area extension project, which will include a new second runway of 3,600 meters long and 45 meters wide, a new Terminal 3 of about 110,000 square meters and logistics cargo warehouse and other projects, and the extension of the existing runway and the expansion of Terminal 2. The project is expected to add more than 5,400 mu of land, with a total investment of 20 billion yuan, and the construction will start in 2021. It is reported that this is the largest investment in the history of Wenzhou Airport construction. It will turn Wenzhou Airport into a large international airport with two runways, multiple-Terminal and air-rail links, and contribute to the construction of regional hub airport and the important airport in the Yangtze River Delta world-class airport cluster.
