Wenzhou Residents' Income Rises Steadily in the First 3 Quarters  


Covid19, complex and everchanging external environment have posed certain challenges on Wenzhou’s economy. As Wenzhou's GDP growth turned positive in the third quarter, economic operations continued to recover. On Sep. 30th, the Wenzhou investigation team of the National Bureau of Statistics released data that in the first three quarters, the income growth rate of residents in Wenzhou accelerated to recover. The per capita disposable income of all permanent residents in Wenzhou was 41,412 yuan, an increase of 1,697 yuan over the same period last year, a nominal increase of 4.3% yearonyear, an increase of 1.3 percentage points from the first half of 2020, ranking fifth in the province; an actual increase of 2.0% after adjusting for inflation, the growth rate increased by 1.6 percentage points from the first half of 2020. In terms of urban and rural areas, the per capita disposable income of urban permanent residents was 48,689 yuan, a nominal increase of 3.5% yearonyear, an increase of 0.5 percentage points from the first half of 2020, ranking fifth in the province; after adjusting for inflation, the actual increase was 1.2%, an increase of 0.8 percentage points from the first half of 2020. The per capita disposable income of rural residents was 25,008 yuan, a nominal increase of 6.0% yearonyear, an increase of 2.6 percentage points from the first half of 2020, ranking sixth in the province; after adjusting for inflation, the actual growth rate was 3.6%, an increase of 2.8 percentage points from the first half of 2020. Wage income has always accounted for half of residents’ income. As Wenzhou Municipal Government implemented epidemic prevention and control, the economy has continued to recover, corporate efficiency has gradually improved, labor demand has steadily recovered, and residents’ wage income growth has gradually returned to normal. In the first three quarters, the per capita wage income of urban residents in Wenzhou was 24,764 yuan, a yearonyear increase of 3.0%; the per capita wage income of rural residents was 14,607 yuan, a yearonyear increase of 4.9%. Despite the impact of the pandemic, “28 Probusiness Policies”, “32 Probusiness Policies” and “12 Financial Policies” for Wenzhou Enterprises have been implemented one after another, as well as various consumer vouchers and consumption activities, which have strongly boosted private and household economy recovery and development.
