With a time-honored tradition,Wiltener Sängerknaben from Innsbruck can trace its history back to the mid-thirteenth century in the school of Wilten Monastery. Lemond Schreier is the abbot of the monastery, and Johannes Stecheris the art instructor. Today, 150 children aged 10 to 15 are in the choir, while it still recruits students not only in Wilten, but also in Austria, even in other countries in Europe and America. It has also participated in many regional, domestic and international cultural events (e.g. 2001 World Ski Championship, 2001 European 1000 City Congresses). Wiltener Sängerknaben not only performed in Austria many times, but also visited Belgium, Denmark, Germany, France, Italy, Czech Republic and other countries. Wherever it went, its performances left a deep impression on the audience.

Accompanied mainly on the piano, Wiltener Sängerknabenhas a distinct and unique performance style. It adopts Yodeling and other special singing methods that originate from the Alps to interpret folk songs, and plays various musical instruments with local characteristics like the Alps trumpet, accordion, organ, zither, Austrian zither, and Austrian national wooden flute.
