Regarded as the “must see repertoire” by the New York Times and the winner of  “Award for Best Dance Art”of Antoinette Perry Award for Excellence in Theatre, Forever Tango includes 27 tangos, which will bring you back to Argentina in the late 19thCentury.

More than just a dance, the tango is music, a drama, a culture, a way of life.

“The tango is a feeling that you dance,” says Louis Brava, the creator and director of the play, “a story you tell in three minutes. It’s passionate, it’s melancholic. It’s tender, violent. You dance it with somebody – but it is so internal, you dance it by yourself. More than just a dance, the tango is music, a drama, a culture, a way of life.”

Debuted in Santiago in 1990, Forever Tango won the Award of Best Tour Repertoire by the Gulf Theatre Critics Association in San Francisco in 1996, and opened at Walter Kerr Theatre on Broadway on June 19th, 1997.

Forever Tango, once a hit throughout the world.

Over the past decade or so, Forever Tango has been favored by the audience all over the United States and even the world. It always has a full house for every performance in the United States in addition to that of Broadway style at the Schubert theatre, and broke the record for box office in South America. Its tickets are hard to obtain in many theaters in Japan, China, South Korea, Portugal, Italy, South America and so on.

Set in a tango bar, the dance is a story, a miniature of the history of tango, showing the survival of people from all walks of life. With 27 tangos in total, it offers passionate performances by accordion, violin and dancers, bringing the audience back to Argentina at the end of the 19th century. “The dancers are all from Argentina,”said Louis Brava, “they show different styles of Tango by flicking their thighs, dragging their arms and tapping their toes,”
