Salzburg Children's Choir puts on the New York classics of The Sound of Music

Founded in 1966, Salzburg Children's Choir is subordinate to the State Conservatory of Salzburg. Over the past 50 years, it has become an indispensable music group in the field of music culture in Salzburg, a city where the film The Sound of Music was shot and the song Christmas Eve originated.

Many TV media like ORF in Austria, BBC in Britain, RAI in Italy, SWR Germany and Holland TV station have cooperated with the Choir to shoot musical documentaries on the theme of The Sound of Music.

The Choir’s repertoire is exquisite, rich and colorful, including traditional works of Austria and Europe, as well as the famous modern world famous music. Besides, tranquil church music, distinctive Austria ballads, gentle round dances and hilarious operas are all on the repertoire.
