Czech History and Culture Photograph Exhibition Held in Wenzhou

On the afternoon of Sep. 15, the Czech  History and Culture Photograph Exhibition,  as part of  the 2017  Sino-Czech  cultural exchange events held in Wenzhou,  kicked off at  the Wenzhou Library. The events are jointly hosted by the Foreign and Overseas Chinese Affairs Office of the Wenzhou Municipal People's Government(FOCAO)and the Consulate General of the Czech Republic in Shanghai.  


The Czech Republic is a major country in response toChina's Belt and Road initiative, and a foreign cooperation partner of Zhejiang. The Exhibition, enabling Wenzhou’s citizens to understand Czech history and culture from a new perspective, is a measure to positively carry out our country's overall diplomatic strategies, and to promote exchanges and cooperation in culture, economy and trade between Wenzhou andCzech.


Director Lei Wendong of the FOCAO attended the opening ceremony of the Photograph Exhibition and delivered a speech. He expressed his hope to further enhance the friendship, and to strengthen cultural exchanges and cooperation between both sides by holding the Exhibition. He also believed that there will be broader prospects for cooperation between the two sides with the people’s mutual understanding deepened.


Mr. Richard Krpac, Consul General of the Czech Republic's Consulate General in Shanghai, said that the exhibition presents a real and colorful Czech, hoping that the two countries will further advance and strengthen their exchanges and cooperation in culture and other fields, and promote their people’s mutual understanding and friendship.


It is reported that the Photograph Exhibition lasted for three days, with more than 80 photos on display, which reflect some famous figures in the Czech history, including Charles IV, hailed as the "father" of the country, and Friar Odoric, first traveler toChinain Czech, known as the "Czech Marco Polo" in addition to the Czech natural scenery.

and President of the Wenzhou Chamber of Commerce in Czech, and Li Fangxi, Deputy Director of the Wenzhou Municipal Culture, Radio-Film-Television, Press and Publication Bureau.
