From Dec. 28 -30, a 6 member delegation headed by Ms. Karolína Preislerová, Director of the Prague’s Fifth District Foreign Affairs Office, Czech, visited Wenzhou. The delegation held a discussion with Wenzhou's related department on making culture exchanges between the two sides in 2017. Mr. Zhou Huaizhong, Deputy Director of the Foreign and Overseas Chinese Affairs Office of the Wenzhou Municipal People's Government, met with the delegation.
Mr. Zhou shared Wenzhou’s profile and its Foreign exchanges conditions with the guests. He said that Wenzhou has consistently attached great importance to international exchanges and cooperation; in recent years, Wenzhou has held Cultural Week or Cultural Day events in one or two Foreign countries each year. Up to now, this city has held distinctive cultural exchange events, such as American Day, Korean Cultural Week, Indian Cultural Week and UK Cultural Week, to promote mutual understanding and to enhance friendship between local and Foreign citizen. He added that Czech is a country with a splendid culture and galaxy of talents, and Prague City and its Fifth District are welcome to hold cultural exchanges events in Wenzhou to present Czech's brilliant music, literature and films, and exquisite handicrafts to Wenzhou People.
Ms. Karolína Preislerová briefed Prague City' Fifth District: The district, located in the newly-built area of Prague and with a population of 90,000, owns the industries of catering service, finance, sci-tech and medicine; the district is active in cultural activities, where a musical festival is held in February each year, in which foreign and Prague's peripheral students are invited to participate. Ms. Karolína Preislerová extended her thanks to Mr. Zhou for his invitation for the visit. She pledged that after returning to Czech, she will spare no effects to actively promote the holding of Sino-Czech cultural activities in 2017, and mobilize her colleagues at cultural departments to action for this purpose.
After the talks, the delegation visited local Pen Drawing Research Institute, where the guests viewed pen drawing works, Gem Hall, Chinese Zither Hall and the famous artist Hou Chuanfang’s Studio; they appreciated the traditional Chinese music : “Fisherman’s Song in the Evening” played with the Chinese Zither, and experienced the fingering of the instrument. Czechic crystal sculpture master Kasak, a member of the delegation, exchanged his artistic creature skills and experience with Mr. Hou. Their talk is so agreeable that Kasak wished he could have met Hou earlier.
