Visa Officials’ Exploratory Visit to Wenzhou Bears fruit

The event of “Visa Officials’ Exploratory Visit to Intangible Cultural Heritages in Wenzhou 2016” held in Wenzhou from Nov. 8-11 is a success. The activity is hosted by the Foreign and Overseas Chinese Affairs Office of the Zhejiang Provincial People’s Government (FOCAOZ), and the Wenzhou Municipal People's Government (WMPG), and organized by the FOCAOZ Visa Management Division, and the Foreign and Overseas Chinese Affairs Office (FOCAO) of the WMPG..

On Nov. 9, a visa officials symposium, as part of the event, was held at Shangri-la Hotel in Wenzhou , which was attended by officials from embassies and consulates in China, FOCAOZ leaders and other officials, related WMPG leaders, and persons in charge of the departments directly under the WMPG, the FOCAO leaders of Wenzhou’s county (county-level city and district) governments, and those of all the other city ones in this province, heads of the foreign service centers of all the cities in the same province as well as representatives of local major foreign-related enterprises, totally 130. At the symposium, chaired by the FOCAOZ Visa Management Division Director Yuan Libin, WMPG Deputy Secretary-general Yuan Liqing, and Consul-General Saidkamol Agzamkhodjaev of the Consulate General of the Republic of Uzbekistan in Shanghai as well as visa officials of part countries addressed the attendees. FOCAOZ Deputy Director Peng Bo made a key note speed. Then local participants made face-to-face exchanges with the visa officials on visa policies and related professional knowledge, which is helpful to this city’s enterprises understanding the visa and trade polices of the countries along the “the Belt and Road” .

In addition, the visa officials and other participants watched local Nanxi Opera and Kun Opera performance, enjoyed the natural and cultural landscape of Jiangxin Islet, the Nanxi River, and Yandang Mountain, and visited the Wenzhou Red Dragonfly Shoe Culture Museum, and the Wenzhou Intangible Cultural Heritage Museum.  

The visa officials’ visit to Wenzhou deepened this city’s exchanges with foreign consulates in China in multiple fields, such as economy and culture, which will promote Wenzhou’s mutually-beneficial cooperation, and common development and prosperity with the countries along the “the Belt and Road” .
