Wenzhou University Bids Farewell to the 4th-batch Thai Students

On January 11th, Wenzhou University, Chinese Language and Culture Education Base designated by Overseas Chinese Affairs Office of the State Council, hosted the Graduation Ceremony & Farewell Party for International Students, Fall Semester 2015 to see off 8 Thai students upon the completion of their study. Meanwhile, it granted certificates to winners of Confucius Institute Scholarship and Certificates of Gratitude to outsourced teachers for Chinese language courses.

It is learned that all of these Thai students are juniors majoring in Chinese Language and Literature in Burapha University in Thailand, a partner university of Confucius Institute. These students are the 4th-batch Thai students of the “3+1”Cooperative Project between Wenzhou University and Burapha University. After finishing two years’ study in Burapha University, they came to Wenzhou University in last February to continue their study for the third year.

At the farewell party, Zhu Jianping, Party Secretary of the College of International Cooperation, Wenzhou University, sent congratulations to the International students on their completion of study, and sang high praises of the efforts they have made to promote the international education cause of Wenzhou University. He hoped that the International students could give full play to their advantages in language communication and the ability of cultural understanding, serve as the friendly envoys of cultural exchange between China and Thailand and build bridges for economic and cultural communication between the two countries.

“Though it’s cold in Wenzhou, teachers and students in the university give me the warmth of home. Wenzhou is my second hometown, and my study here is valuable experience of mine. Thank you very much, WZU!”Those simple and earnest words from Lisa Peng, Representative of International students, conveyed her profound gratitude to the Chinese alma mater.

Upon parting, teachers and students could not tear themselves away from each other. On the spot, a video featuring teachers and students made by the students themselves was played to relive the memory of their life in WZU and experience once more the sincere relationship between teachers and students. Besides, a Thai students Jianjia Wang sang a Thai song to show the affection towards classmates.
