Rui’an wooden movable type printing is called a living fossil of ancient printing technique, as it is the only method still practiced in China. It is not only of high historical and cultural value, but also the best evidence of China being the origin of movable type. Now wooden movable type is mainly seen in southwestern Rui’an of Wenzhou.
