Tall Man Wonton

Around 1930, Chen Libiao from Yueqing County was ran a wonton stall at an entrance of a street in downtown Wenzhou. He applied proper amount of cooking alkali to ensure thin wrappers not easily broken during boiling. His wonton featured fresh fillings and such quality soup additives as laver, eggs, meat floss, and liquor-soaked dried shrimps. When served, the palatable wonton looked like flowers in a transparent soup. As he was tall, his wonton was named Tall Man Wonton.
