The Brief Introduction of the Friendly Exchanges between Wenzhou and Prato Province (Italy)

1． The friendly exchange between Wenzhou and Prato province started from 1996.
2． Upon the invitation of Mr. Jiang Jufeng, the secretary of the Municipal Party Committee of Wenzhou, Mr. Maffei, the head of the Administrative Affairs Bureau of Prato province, and his colleague came to Wenzhou in October 2000, participating the Third Commodities Fair. An intention of setting up friendly exchange relationship between Wenzhou and Prato was signed.
3． In June 2001, Mr. Maffei paid another work visit to Wenzhou and signed the agreement of setting up friendly exchange relationship. In the same year, two delegations of Wenzhou visited Prato province (Italy) in February and September separately.
4． In October 2001, a large delegation consisting of more than 30 persons from Prato province attended the Fourth Commodities Fair held in Wenzhou. The letters of intention of cooperation in the fields of education, culture exchange and "Asian-urban" project were singed.
5.Three different delegations from Wenzhou visited Prato partly in March, July and August of 2002 separately. In Prato, both sides exchanged their opinions on how to accomplish the "Asian-urban" project perfectly and on how to advance exchanges in the fields of economy,  trade, education and hygiene, etc.
6． From October 12th -15th 2002, Mr. Mannocci, the head of Prato province, visited the 2002 Chinese Light Industrial Products (Wenzhou) Fair with a large group consisting of government officials and enterpreneurs. On October 14th, the agreement on setting up sister city relationship between Wenzhou and Prato was formally signed.
