Clothing industry is the traditional industry in Wenzhou In 2000,  the city boasted over 2,000 clothing industrial enterprises with the anmual output value of 22.3 billion yuan, about one tenth of the country's total.Men's Western-style suits were the major products,while women's, casual and children's clothing vied in development. Since the nineties, the clothing enter prises have imported tots of  international advanced equipment and constantly improved the grade of the products, of which 39 brands reach the state highest quality standards. In the national competition and appraisal of all kinds of garments, Wenzhou clothing alt won the grand prizes. The men's brandname clothes  made by the five enterprises of Western-style suits entered into the Chinese  garment cultural display activities in the '99 Paris China Cultural Week 1'o raise the integral level of clothing industry, Wcnzhou Municipal People's Government has started to build "China (International) Clothing Famous City Industrial Park" in Binhai New District of Wenzhou Economic and Technological Development Zone, making "clothing in Wenzhou" known to all and creating regional brand names.
