Since the Ninth Five-year Plan, 9.1 billion yuan has been invested  in the construction of the Wenzhou sections of the Ningbo-Taizhou-Wenzhou and the Jinhua-Lishui-Wenzhou Expressways, of which the Wenzhou Bridge spanning the Oujiang River has the full length of 17.1 kilometres. The first-phase project for the docks of Qili Port, the biggest deepwater port in Wenzhou, has been completed in all engineering construction. The project linking the five islands of Dongtou County, a component of Wenzhou's peninsula project, also has been finished on the whole.
